Commercial Asbestos Refurbishment Survey Completed in Leeds

The team of asbestos experts here at Pillars Environmental have recently undertaken an Asbestos Refurbishment Survey on one floor of the iconic 1 City Square building in Leeds.

For those who know the Leeds area well, you will know that this building is home to a number of businesses and therefore is a high-traffic building. Undertaking asbestos surveys for office buildings poses a unique set of challenges for our surveyors as it is key that any asbestos found is correctly identified, sampled and remains undisturbed, so as not to put occupants at further risk. The refurbishment survey was to be undertaken in preparation for a full revamp of the office space, meaning all current fixtures were being stripped away, leaving just bare brick.

As this is an office building, other floors both above and below our teams were occupied and therefore keeping disruptions and noise at a minimum was important at all times. Our asbestos surveyors kept in constant communication with the building staff, as well as the client, to ensure that the survey could be undertaken without any interruption to the day-to-day running of the building.
